Tarp Set Up Basics & Tips
Congrats on owning a NoBox Tent Tarp! The fun thing with the this tarp kit is it’s versatility. The kit comes with everything you need to pop up a temporarily shelter. If you’re new to tarp shelters, it may feel a little complex at first, but we are all about getting outside of your comfort zone and getting outside your box. TENSION IS KEY to setting up tarp shelters. Tension comes from the guylines and the tarp itself. It may take a few rounds of trial and error to get familiar with stake placement. Never fear, it took Edison 1,000 unsuccessful attempts to get the 1 successful attempt of a lightbulb. We guarantee it’ll only take a handful of practices to be confident in your tarp skills. Here’s a basic guide when setting up shelters:
KNOW YOUR KNOTS — Slip and Grip knots are very useful for setting up your tarp structures. If you need to prevent slipping, do a double taught at the end of your line (see below).
